MISSION CHECKLIST - TEN PRINCIPLES

IHEEM's ten guiding principles provide a compass for the Institute to provide its Vision of societal confidence and trust and its Mission of being the relevant and visible learned professional body involved with contributing to knowledge in healthcare engineering and estate management.

As the Institute moves forward we will measure any proposed initiative against these principles. Before implementing an initiative we will evaluate the extent to which it fulfils one or more of these principles, or whether it risks compromising any of them.

    • We will influence and effect change for the benefit of members and society
    • We will raise the profile of IHEEM amongst our members, our stakeholders and the public to become the professional voice of our profession
    • We will have a strong understanding of our members needs
    • We will have an understand of the needs of the healthcare engineering and estate manager community better than anyone else
    • We must be regarded as a respected primary source of relevant impartial information concerning developing career progression in healthcare engineering and estate management
    • We will communicate effectively with our members and all stakeholders
    • We must be a professional, effective, efficient organisation with skilled, motivated and knowledgeable staff
    • We will grow our membership
    • We will maintain a strong financial base.

      Our objective is for IHEEM members to enjoy the status, rewards and credibility that membership proffers in the work environment. We strive to bring about cultural change to enhance the cause of the professional healthcare engineer and estate manager. In order to maintain our Vision IHEEM members will:

      • Promote the art and science of healthcare engineering and estate management for public benefit.
      • Enjoy the rewards and benefits commensurate with holding membership of the Institute.
      • Contribute to employers outcomes by being a vital workforce providing knowledge, skill, quality assurance and authority.
      • Provide healthcare engineers and estate managers of the future by mentoring and skilling engineers and estate managers of tomorrow.
